Spurs face struggle to trim squad

- By SAMI MOKBEL

TOTTENHAM are being frustrated in their efforts to trim Antonio Conte’s squad despite receiving offers for a number of their unwanted players. Outcasts Sergio Reguilon, Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks and Giovani Lo Celso can all leave Spurs this summer and have been excluded from Conte’s first-team training sessions.

The Italian coach (above) only wants players involved in his plans training with the senior group and has made it clear to the quartet that they have no future under him.

Sportsmail understands that Tottenham have received offers for the players, but have found it difficult to complete deals because they have been hesitant in agreeing to move. The delays have caused irritation behind the scenes at Spurs, who are prioritising outgoings as they look to balance their squad after making six first-team signings. Tottenham are pressing those players for a decision, but the club are being made to wait. Reguilon and Lo Celso have interest in Spain, and Ndombele and Winks both have interest from Premier League and foreign clubs.

But with under three weeks of the transfer window left to run, despite having firm interest in the foursome, Spurs are facing a race against time to sell.
