THE screenwriter Abi Morgan, whose credits include The Hour, River and the film The Iron Lady, dropped her children off at school on a June morning, went to work, came home and found her life totally and horribly changed. Her husband was lying on the bathroom floor, with blue lips and blood caked around his mouth. Actress Nicola Walker, who starred in Morgan’s recent divorce drama The Split, reads this fierce, funny and honest memoir about how Morgan and her children struggled and coped after this terrible blow.

BIG BROTHER star Jade Goody (pictured) was loud, unguarded and Britain’s first big reality star. Sometimes the public loved her, sometimes they hated her. When Jade learnt she had cancer — the cameras were on her at the time — the public pitied her. She was just 27 when she died. The new series UNREAL (7.15PM, RADIO 4) looks at the early days of Big Brother and charts how viewers got a taste for seeing lives like Jade’s unravelling on screen.
