Fox sees red... and trashes couple’s home

- Daily Mail Reporter

‘It was as big as a medium-sized dog’

THEY are normally seen stealthily scampering across fields and gardens.

But one bold fox terrified a couple by marauding around their home as they slept. Beth Pinfield, 27, and Liam Ibbotson, 28, woke to discover the animal watching them in bed before trashing their bathroom.

Miss Pinfield stirred after hearing a noise and thought her cat Salem was ‘making a racket’ at 5am but, after a panicked double-take, she spotted the fox peering at her in the darkness.

She woke Mr Ibbotson – but he screamed and spooked the creature which dashed into their bathroom in South Littleton, Worcestershire. Frantically trying to flee, it knocked two shelves off the wall and urinated on the floor.

In a video clip posted on TikTok, it is seen perched on hairdresser Miss Pinfield’s windowsill surrounded by fallen plants, broken shelves and fake tan bottles. The video racked up more than 4.3million views and 400,000 likes and comments.

Miss Pinfield said: ‘I woke up, looked and I was like “Is that a fox?” I thought I was dreaming. It was a big fox.

‘Liam was petrified. His first reaction was to scream at it. That freaked the fox out so it then legged it into the bathroom and was trying to find a way to get out. It completely trashed the bathroom.’

The couple believe the fox entered the house through a new cat flap or open window and might have been searching for their guinea pigs.

They opened a nearby window and it fled. Miss Pinfield said: ‘He does look quite small on the video but he was actually quite big – about the size of a mediumsized dog.’

Groundsman Mr Ibbotson wrote online: ‘I bravely opened the window by hand before the fox left a smell that still won’t go away. We have guinea pigs so I think that he might have been after them.’
