VICTORIA Beckham has been left ‘ heartbroken’ at the fallout with daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz Beckham, which has meant she has barely seen her son Brooklyn since he got married in April.

The former Spice Girl is said to be ‘distraught and fearful’ that the tensions will affect her close relationship with the photographer-turned-chef.

Mrs Beckham was once inseparable from her eldest child Brooklyn, heavily relying on him for support while former football star husband David travelled the world for work.

But friends say she is deeply saddened that Brooklyn did not join the Beckham family holiday, which saw them travel across Europe on a lavish yacht.

Her upset comes amid revelations that tensions between the Beckhams and the Peltzes were created because Nicola ‘had no intention’ of wearing a wedding dress designed by Mrs Beckham, 48, at the no- expense- spared nuptials on Palm Beach, Florida.

It has also been revealed that Brooklyn and Nicola’s first dance song was hijacked and played for Mrs Beckham and Brooklyn in a ‘mother-son moment’.

And there was further turmoil after Mrs Beckham did not invite her daughter-in-law to her upcoming show at Paris Fashion Week.

‘He was her comfort blanket’

One friend told the Daily Mail: ‘Victoria loves having all of her children around her, it is how she loves to spend her time the most.

‘She has always been so warm and welcoming to her sons’ girlfriends and absolutely adored Nicola from day one.

‘ But things have got tricky and it is upsetting for her, she is heartbroken.

‘She and Brooklyn have always had such a close relationship, he was her comfort blanket when things were difficult in the Beckham marriage.

‘She would also take Brooklyn to events as he was growing up where she would describe him as her date. She has found all of this very difficult.’

Brooklyn, 23, and Nicola, 27, were notably absent from the Beckham family holiday in Europe this summer, as well as more recently in Miami where the family have been seen aboard their £10million yacht, named Seven. Before the holiday began in July, sources close to Brooklyn confirmed that the newlyweds would not be joining, confessing that ‘they would be remaining in Los Angeles’ once their honeymoon came to an end.

Instead, youngest son Cruz, 17, took his girlfriend Tana Holding for the duration of the trip, while Romeo joined them in Miami when his footballing commitments allowed him to. The source added:

‘Victoria is used to Brooklyn being there for these family events, it was sad for her that he was missing.’

On Thursday, Mail Online revealed the deep level of drama between the Peltzes and the Beckhams which began around the time of Brooklyn and Nicola’s £3million wedding.

An insider told how Nicola didn’t ever intend to wear a wedding dress designed by Mrs Beckham, despite her claims that she ‘really wanted to’ and friends saying Mrs Beckham cancelled the plan at the ‘last minute’. Nicola previously said that declining Mrs Beckham’s offer over the frock was not meant to be a slight against her future mother-in-law.

Meanwhile, on their wedding day, the couple planned that they would two-step to You Sang To Me, sung live by US singer Marc Anthony, but moments before the dance at the request of Mrs Beckham, it was switched to be dedicated to herself and Brooklyn.

Nicola allegedly stormed out of her wedding after Anthony lavished praise on Victoria in a speech. But a source close to the Peltzes claimed that Nicola was upset over the alleged song-stealing, and not the singer’s speech.

Sources close to the families also claim that Mr and Mrs Beckham refused to pay for Brooklyn’s US green card and instead Nicola’s billionaire father Nelson is footing the bill.

Representatives for both Mrs Beckham and Brooklyn and Nicola have not responded to requests for comment.
