Extra froth with that? Marr’s coffee coop

- By Imogen Horton

HE vowed to ‘ruffle feathers’ when he left the BBC earlier this year.

But it was Andrew Marr who found himself agitated by pigeons as he enjoyed a coffee with a friend.

The broadcaster, 63, was sitting outside a cafe in Primrose Hill, London, last week when his conversation was rudely interrupted.

He was chatting with a friend before noticing something drop from above – narrowly missing his coffee. Bemused, the pair were seen looking around trying to work out where it had come from.

But the mystery was short-lived as two pigeons, sitting high up on a ledge, were found to be the culprits.

The pair soon saw the funny side, but the risk of another accident was too great and they moved to the other side of the cafe.

The former editor of The Independent left the BBC this year after 21 years.
