Vardy ‘moving on’ and will not appeal against Wagatha ruling

- By Ryan Hooper

REBEKAH Vardy will not appeal against the High Court ruling which saw her lose her multi-million-pound libel battle with fellow footballer’s wife Coleen Rooney.

The row between the former friends began in 2019 when Mrs Rooney, the wife of England’s record goal scorer Wayne, accused television personality Mrs Vardy of leaking posts from her private Instagram account to The Sun.

Mrs Vardy, the wife of Leicester City striker Jamie, a former England teammate of Rooney’s, denied the claims and sued for libel. Despite her protestations that she ‘did not do it’, mother-of-five Mrs Vardy, 40, appears to have thrown in the towel on the legal drama.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: ‘It’s all over and Becky wants to move on. She is extremely frustrated with lawyers and the legal process so hell would have to freeze over before she went back into court.’

Experts estimate the final legal costs will reach £3million, although it is yet to be decided how that total will be split among the parties.
