Nuclear sell-off

I AM horrified that French-owned utility firm EDF will build Sizewell C nuclear power plant in Suffolk.

EDF is my energy supplier and my power bill is increasing by 54 per cent, while French customers pay only 4 per cent more.

Yet the Government is handing over £700 million of taxpayer cash for this project. Don’t we have any engineers, scientists or builders who could take it on?

When we were in the EU, we

followed the rules on state ownership and sold off our infrastructure to so- called private enterprises that were, in fact, run by foreign governments. I can’t believe MPs were so short-sighted.
