Taboo comedy

COMEDIAN Russell Kane says he revels in the fact that he’s allowed to use a lot of

rude words that weren’t permitted 30 years ago.

Alas, he didn’t look at the other side of the coin and discuss the ever-increasing list of topics that are taboo, but which were largely spoken of, usually with minor or no complaint, in the past.

Yes, a few things have rightly been confined to history, but on balance I’d gladly swap today’s schoolboy scatological references for the rapidly declining right to reference sensitive subjects in a humorous or serious setting without being cancelled.
