PICKFORD SET TO MISS A MONTH IN BLOW TO EVERTON AND ENGLAND

-

EVERTON goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is facing a month on the sidelines with a thigh injury and is likely to miss England’s final round of fixtures before the World Cup. Pickford, who starred in the Merseyside derby last weekend, missed training yesterday and is set to be absent for Everton’s trip to Arsenal on Sunday and their home match with West

Ham a week later. It means the 28-year-old is a huge doubt for England’s Nations League fixtures against Italy and Germany on September 23 and 26. His next appearance for England therefore could be in Qatar in November. Back-up keeper Asmir Begovic is set to deputise for Everton, with the club unlikely to sign a free agent as cover.
