NATIONAL TRAITS
Britain’s Greatest Obsessions, 9pm, Sky History/Now
IN EACH of six episodes — all of which are available on demand today — a celebrity looks at a particular subject that looms large in British culture and tries to work out what’s at the root of our preoccupation. First up is comedian Harry Hill, who leads a fascinating and very funny discussion about humour, asking if the British sense of it really is as great as we believe. There’s also Madness frontman Suggs exploring our obsession with pubs; Chris Packham looking at our love of pets; Lorraine Kelly on the Second World War; Reginald D. Hunter considering class, and Liza Tarbuck wondering why we talk about the weather so much.
