In a sea of tributes, a moment of quiet grief

- Daily Mail Reporter

HEAD bowed, a woman wipes away tears as she surveys some of the vast array of flowers left in memory of the Queen.

She was overcome with emotion as she took photographs of some of the tributes in Green Park, beside Buckingham Palace, yesterday.

Families, friends and strangers from all over the world consoled each other as they gathered outside the Palace and in London’s royal parks to pay their respects.

Volunteers from the Samaritans supported mourners at the flower collection in Green Park and handed out contact details to those who had been strongly affected by the Queen’s death. The charity said people had been opening up to them about their losses.
