Swedish poll puts far-Right near power
SWEDEN’S Left-wing government is set to be ousted after a stunning election surge by a far-Right anti-immigration party with neo-Nazi roots.
With 94 per cent of the ballots counted after Sunday’s election, the far- Right Sweden Democrats, led by Jimmie Akesson, look likely to win 21 per cent of the vote to become the country’s second biggest party.
It could now agree a coalition with the Moderate party to oust the Social Democrats, although talks will take weeks. The Democrats, founded by white supremacists, have risen as immigration has soared.
