Cresswell goes hunting for Moor

- CARA SLOMAN

ANDY CRESSWELL and Neil Thompson want to put Moor Hall’s name on the Daily Mail Foursomes trophy for the second time after booking their spot in the grand finals. In 2006 John-Paul Banbury and Robert Bardsley won the title for their West Midlands club and now Cresswell and Thompson hope to follow in their footsteps after battling through seven knock-out rounds. Just 16 male and female pairs will compete at Marriott St Pierre in Chepstow next month. ‘We’re going trophy hunting for sure,’ said Cresswell, 52. ‘This is the pinnacle of my golfing career. It’s a national tournament. We’re very proud of what we’ve done. I was like a kid at Christmas.’ He joked: ‘I just imagine next will be the LIV tour.’
