Non-stop scrutiny

-

ThOSe of us who have followed the hearse of a loved one know how difficult it is emotionally.

I can’t comprehend how Princess Anne must have felt walking behind her mother’s coffin for such a long time. I salute her and her supportive husband Tim Laurence.

We can empathise with the grief expressed by the Royal Family as many of us have been down that path, but theirs has been prolonged because it has been in the public eye.

They deserve our support because the public scrutiny has been nonstop. We have to remember they are only human.

Liz Truss was criticised for a breach of protocol by touching charles’s arm, but it probably did him more good than we can possibly imagine.
