Respect silence

-

The BBc coverage of events since the passing of the Queen has been superb. however, I am irritated by the incessant commentary during the journey of the cortege.

I used the mute button, but would have preferred to hear the near silent plod of the procession and the crowd’s respectful reaction.

during the state funeral, I hope the commentators pipe down and leave us to our private thoughts.

HARRY HAYSHAM,

Chelmsford, Essex. I AgRee the BBc coverage has been extensive and comprehensive,

but I am suffering from information overload and a sense of tedium. There is constant repetition of words and pictures.

So, for me it’s time to switch off until the day of the state funeral.

I fear that hundreds of thousands will make a fruitless journey to Westminster hall to view the Queen’s lying in state.

It will be a slow process as people shuffle through the hall, pausing to take in the scene and atmosphere. I assume the police will cut off the queue at some point and tell people to go home.

We should remember that our personal thoughts for the Queen are no less worthy whether we are watching on Tv or have queued for hours.

R. HAVENHAND, Nantwich, Cheshire.
