‘Inclusive’ London’s non-binary option
RUNNERS in the mass-participation race at next year’s London Marathon will be able to register as non-binary for the first time. Participants will have three gender options when they enter the ballot, with organisers aiming to make the event ‘truly inclusive’. The change does not affect the elite races, which will be divided into male and female categories as per World Athletics rules.
‘Changes such as this demonstrate our commitment to making this an event that is for everyone,’ said race director Hugh Brasher.
