Jodie the stylish assassin turns desperate mum
‘Quiet heroics of devotion and love’
CLUTCHING her baby tightly and looking haunted by the disaster unfolding around her, this character is barely recognisable as Killing K Eve star Jodie Comer.
Playing the assassin Villanelle, she s was in control and supremely confident. But in The End We Start From, the 29-year-old is a mother desperately d battling to survive with her new-born baby after floods devastate London.
In the first images released from f the set of the dystopian thriller, t she is pictured walking down d a debris-strewn street.
‘My character is ordinary and extraordinary,’ e said Miss Comer. ‘Her personal life and the world around her have been turned upside down and she is dealing with the unknown at every turn.’
The actress, who began dating US lacrosse player James Burke, 28, in 2020, added: ‘Her story is about the quiet heroics of devotion, bravery and love.’
Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Strong, Gina McKee and Katherine Watson also star in the film.
Director Mahalia Belo said she was ‘working with an extraordinary cast, bringing this human, primal and ultimately hopeful story to life’. Based on the novel by Megan Hunter, the movie is not due out until at least 2023.
