- By Imogen Horton

HE laid the foundations for global pop stardom with huge hits in the 1980s.

Now Boy George is aiming to cement his financial security by selling his sixbedroom mansion for a staggering £17million. The stunning Grade II-listed Gothic property, which overlooks Hampstead Heath in north London, has been home to the Culture Club singer for almost 40 years.

The massive 5,45 sq ft property boasts five bedrooms with their own dressing rooms, five bathrooms, a meditation room, cinema room and roof terrace.

Boy George, 61, who has sold 150million records worldwide including No1s Do You Really Want To Hurt Me and Karma Chameleon, bought the property in 1984.

It features a tower, grand staircase, vaulted ceilings and huge bay windows. The singer, who also enjoyed success as a DJ, gave the home a major facelift with the design spearheaded by Dragons’ Den star Kelly Hoppen.

The mansion, which was built in 1868, was owned by comedian Marty Feldman in the 1960s.

The affluent area is also home to singer Sam Smith, Oasis star Liam Gallagher and actor Jude Law.
