FROM the bottom of the planet, I would like to thank UK broadcasters for their coverage of the Queen’s funeral. The BBC’s was impeccable — their feed was technically perfect.
we in New Zealand could watch live: the lone piper, the choral cadences, the sailors pulling the carriage. a greater display of overall dignity and discipline may never be witnessed again.
only when you see such transparency can you grasp what a democratic society means. No one forced any loyalty. No one staged any grief.
Putin, Kim Jong-un and Xi Jinping should look and learn. respect always has to be earned.
