CITY’S GLOBAL EMPIRE GROWS TO 12 CLUBS

- JACK GAUGHAN

MANCHESTER CITY’S owners are set to expand their global stable of clubs to 12 with the purchase of Bahia in Brazil.

A deal to take over the second division club is at an advanced stage, with key meetings this week in a bid to ratify a deal. It would mark the City Football Group’s third foray into South America. They have a stake in Uruguay’s Montevideo City Torque and a partnership with Club Bolivar in Bolivia. Bahia’s president attended City’s Champions League home leg against Atletico Madrid in April.
