DYNASTY, NETFLIX

-

IT MAY be lighter on the shoulder pads than the 1980s original, but this updated revamp of the glitzy soap opera is equally heavy on corporate scheming, personal vendettas and over-the-top family feuds. It’s a genuine shame to see it nearing an end as the fifth and final series sashays onto Netflix. At least there are 22 episodes of drama and scandal still to look forward too, and the show’s certainly not going quietly (would you really expect it to?). The series four cliffhanger shootout at the Sahara Club saw Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) bleeding in Liam’s arms. Has she survived? Were Cristal (Nathalie Kelley) and Blake (Grant Show, pictured with Gillies) successful against Beto? And — most importantly — how is uber-diva Alexis (Elaine Hendrix) coping with prison? The answer to the last one may surprise you, and with Alexis still protesting her innocence, her daughter Amanda (Eliza Bennett) turns detective and sets out to see who might really be responsible for the murder

of Dr Larson.
