Hornby and Westover reunited for shot at Arc

ROB HORNBY is hoping lightning strikes twice in Paris on Sunday when he partners Westover in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

Hornby will be reunited with the Ralph Beckett-trained Irish Derby winner at Longchamp having been replaced by Irish champion jockey Colin Keane at the Curragh after Westover had disappoint­ed in Ascot’s King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes in July. Westover will sport the colours of Juddmonte Farm in the French feature which have been carried to victory six times in the Arc.

‘I haven’t been to Arc weekend before so I can’t wait to sample it,’ said Hornby. ‘My earliest memory of the race was probably Workforce who won the race (2010) in the same colours.’ Having been in the saddle for Westover’s Sandown comeback win and his eyecatchin­g third at Epsom in the Derby, Hornby, 27, wisely kept his counsel when he
