PLANT DAFFODILS

-

OCTOBER is the optimum month for planting spring bulbs, other than tulips. Remember to plant yours deeply. That is especially important for daffodils and narcissus, both of which could be susceptible to narcissus fly. Experts suggest bulb bases should be 15cm below ground. Winter-flowering irises such as i.reticulata, though smaller, should also be planted 15cm deep. Tulips are planted in November. Plant with their bases 20cm below the surface. It will deter hungry badgers.
