Harry should be stripped of his title if he turns on royals in his book

-

KING Charles has already ‘read the riot act’ to his troublesome son Prince Harry, it is claimed, expressing in no uncertain terms that there will be ‘consequences’ if his autobiography Spare or his and Meghan’s reveal- all Netflix documentary harm the Royal Family.

Royal biographer Tom Bower says his sources tell him Charles ‘ has made various threats to Meghan and Harry and warned them if they go ahead [attacking the royals] they will find themselves ostracised in a way they cannot believe’.

That could involve the most dramatic censure of all — removing all of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal titles, as well as those of their children Archie and Lilibet. Yes, the very titles they rely upon (especially in the U.S.) to peddle their grievances for millions.

Of course, if they cross the line, they should become royal exiles — a painful decision for King Charles, but necessary to preserve the monarchy. Charles has prepared for most of his adult life for this role. Can you imagine how angry he’d be to see his plans for a modern, streamlined, hard-working monarchy blown up by the Sussexes within months of him taking the throne?

The King will be particularly concerned that the book could be disparaging about Camilla. Harry believes she broke his mother Diana’s heart and she could be hit by his sense of self-righteous retribution.

There are rumours, too, that both William and Kate have targets on their backs.

Even since the Oprah Winfrey interview, Charles, Camilla, William and Kate have repeatedly extended olive branches to the Sussexes, most noticeably during the Queen’s funeral. The couple were included in the most important royal ceremonies and Harry stood watch over the Queens’ coffin in full military uniform, which he is no longer entitled to wear as a non-working royal.

Both were embraced by the Royal Family for all the world to see.

The Sussexes were safe while the Queen was alive. She had a soft spot for Harry. With Charles on the throne it is different, even though he loves his son. If Harry and Meghan go too far, I believe he will remove their titles and cast them out.

And I suspect that people across the country, sick of their petulant self-indulgent, money-making antics, would rejoice and cry: ‘Three cheers for The King!’
