Margaret’s girl makes her society debut ... in Soho

-

ONCE upon a time, young royal women would make their society debuts at glittering balls during the height of the Season. Now, they opt for wild parties at former strip clubs.

Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones, who was a bridesmaid at Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding in 2011, was the talk of Tatler magazine’s Little Black Book party at The Windmill in Soho.

That’s the London venue best known for its nude tableaux vivants, immortalised in Mrs Henderson Presents, the 2005 film starring Dame Judi Dench.

Lady Margarita, daughter of David Linley, the 2nd Earl of Snowdon, wore a bespoke, faux fur coat designed by Michael Kors, that conjured up memories of her grandmother, Princess Margaret, pictured right at a 1951 film premiere, a stone’s throw away in Leicester Square.

The 20-year-old student at Oxford Brookes University has inherited the creative skills of her carpenter father, becoming a silver jewellery designer.
