JACK FROST HAS COME TO CALL
AutuMN’S first frost struck this week, pictured. though light and harmless, it was a sharp reminder that i still had tender pot plants outside. All your non- hardy treasures will need protection.
rugged plants such as pelargoniums, begonias and cannas must be kept fully frost-free.
Smaller plants such as lobelias, verbenas and trailing plectranthus can be propagated from cuttings. Choose a healthy plant or two and pot them up for the greenhouse. From February, these will yield cuttings that can be planted out in May.
