- Daily Mail Reporter

A BRITISH rugby player who once appeared on the X Factor has gone missing in Spain – having not been seen since a night out nine days ago.

Former england under-18 and under-19 player Levi Davis, 24, disappeared after visiting a bar in Barcelona with friends on october 29.

The highly rated rugby union winger is known for his television appearances, having featured on ITV’s The X Factor: Celebrity in 2019 alongside fellow rugby players Ben Foden and Thom evans in a singing group called Try Star.

He also took part in e4’ s Celebs Go Dating in 2020.

Mr evans posted on Instagram: ‘I’m very worried about the whereabouts of my friend.’ Bath rugby, Mr Davis’s former club, issued an appeal online, saying Mr Davis was last seen at The old Irish Pub, which is just off the tourist hotspot of La rambla in Barcelona.

It shared a missing persons poster, and urged fans to share it on social media.

England rugby stars Freddie Burns and Tom Varndell have asked anyone who has seen him to make contact.

Former england player Mr Varndell tweeted: ‘URGENT! If anyone has seen or heard from Levi Davis in the last two weeks could you please drop me a message asap. Many thanks.’

Leicester Tigers player Mr Burns shared his appeal, adding: ‘Please share. Praying Levi is found safe and well.’ Mr Davis’s distraught family have reported him as a missing person to police in Spain.

His mother Julie Davis told The Sun: ‘Levi’s family and I are very worried about him and desperate to know that he is OK. Levi, please get in touch with us or if anyone knows anything please contact us.

‘Nobody has heard from him since october 29 when he was last known to be in The old Irish Pub in Barcelona.’

Mr Davis began his rugby career at Bath in 2017 and now plays for worthing raiders.

In 2020 he became the first professional rugby player to come out as bisexual in an interview with The Sun. He said he revealed his sexuality to teammates in a whatsApp message, writing: ‘I just want to tell you something that’s been eating away at me for four years now. I want to be open and honest with you boys, as friends and teammates. I’m bisexual.

‘It’s something I have known since I was 18.’

He joked: ‘none of you lot are on my radar so it’s OK.’

Talking about his decision to reveal his sexuality, he said: ‘I had hidden it well but I couldn’t keep it secret any longer.’

He told The Mail on Sunday: ‘This could have ended up killing me, but it hasn’t.

‘To anyone else in a similar position, I say, “Just pull off the plaster and do it”.

‘There are definitely others out there in rugby.’
