Scots have to improve
GREGOR TOWNSEND knows that Scotland will have to drastically improve against the All Blacks after they laboured to an unconvincing 28-12 win over Fiji on Saturday. When asked what they will have to do to compete with New Zealand, the Scotland head coach said: ‘We won’t get as many opportunities to score tries, so we have got to make sure we take them. We have never beaten them so it’s going to take our best performance.’
George Turner, Adam Hastings, Duhan van der Merwe and Ben White scored tries against Fiji but captain Jamie Ritchie admitted that Scotland must tidy up their discipline.
‘We were frustrated with it in the first half,’ he said. ‘We can’t be giving teams as many opportunities as we did against Fiji.’
