IN THE slightly altered reality that exists inside Richard Wilson’s head, there are many strange nooks and crannies. In this first of a welcome repeat of the fourth series of the One Foot in The Grave actor’s highly unreliable, enjoyably tetchy ‘radiograph­y’, written by John Calder, we hit a bit of a tartan patch. Richard has decided that it’s time for him to be much more Scottish and, once the bee is in his bonnet, he piles on the pressure for his Scottish friends, including Peter Capaldi, Ian McKellen and Arabella Weir, to pick up the caber and do the same.

BREAD pudding is not bread and butter pudding. It’s a different thing altogether and, when made properly, is a comfort and a delight. As far as the comedian Suzi Ruffell (pictured) is concerned, her nan Joan made the best bread pudding in the whole wide world. For this week’s
