Royal tipping point

-

I WAS delighted to read Petronella Wyatt’s article about Andrew Parker Bowles (Mail) that at last enlightened readers about the truth of Camilla’s relationship with Charles.

In 1990, two years before it was made known that Charles and Diana’s marriage was on the rocks, I was on holiday in Alabama, staying at the home of American cousins. Some other cousins from France were also there.

Their son, a professor of phytotherapy at exeter University, was a friend of Prince Charles and the latter had told him about Camilla’s husband’s affairs and how upset she was.

My cousin then told us that Prince Charles’s marriage was on the blink because Diana made eyes at the Press and also had affairs, but she was always portrayed as being wronged by him.

I certainly won’t be watching The Crown, or I would probably throw something at the screen.
