New women’s minister alarms me
WHAT was Rishi Sunak thinking when he appointed Maria Caulfield Minister for Women with the additional responsibility for Women’s Health Strategy? Maria voted against decriminalising abortion in Northern Ireland and she is against making early abortion services permanently available for woman at home (both measures are backed by a majority of MPs); she has also opposed buffer zones around abortion clinics.
The Abortion Act 1967 legalised the hard-won support for a woman’s right to choose. Mess with it at your peril.
