■ NO WONDER Rishi Sunak, at 5ft 6in the shortest PM since Churchill, has a close bond with diminutive French President Macron, as he’s the only world leader Rishi can see eye-toeye with on anything.

■ SUNAK pays France £80 million to allow our Border Force officers into migrant centres — but they will have no power to stop smallboat crossings. That is a joke compared to the £200 million a month we pay to house migrants in hotels, with some complaining about the food. Perhaps our Border Officers

can check for gluten allergies before they arrive.

■ HAVING worked in the 24/7 hell storm that is British politics, I have some sympathy for Gavin Williamson. In the fury of battle I do recall many instances when I suggested a colleague jump out of the window . . . after me.
