Half a tree? That better not mean half the presents!

- By Mary O’Connor

THE annual nightmare of trying to squeeze a Christmas tree, presents and all your extra relatives into one room could soon be over.

Argos has launched its first half-Christmas tree for spaces-trapped Britons. It sits flush against the wall and according to the retailer ‘takes up half the space and half the decorations of a regular tree’.

The 6ft £55 artificial Habitat tree also comes pre-lit with 120 LED bulbs, making searching for and untangling last year’s string of lights a thing of the past.

Argos is also selling a basket-style Christmas tree – which is 3ft tall – for the same price. The tree by Premier Decorations has 20 LED lights and is designed to be mounted on the wall, but customers took to its online review page to blast its ‘ridiculous’ price tag.

A poll of 2,000 Britons commissioned by Argos this month found that more three quarters of families admit they struggle to find space for a festive fir.
