Lavrov dismisses heart ‘rumours’

RUSSIA’S foreign minister Sergei Lavrov yesterday mocked – but did not deny – reports he had been taken to hospital with a heart issue after arriving at the G20 summit.

In a video shot at his Balinese hotel, he said: ‘They’ve been writing about our President being sick for the last ten years. This is a game.’

In it he wore a T-shirt bearing the name of late US street artist JeanMichel Basquiat, who dated Madonna in the early 1980s, when Lavrov was in New York working at the UN.
