READER John Marshall (Letters) is confusing the Post Office, which is owned by the government and therefore the country, with Royal Mail, a privately owned company.

Post offices make little money selling stamps on behalf of Royal Mail, but usually get the abuse when Royal Mail doesn’t deliver.
