KROMEK has landed a contract worth nearly £5m with a UK government department for ‘biological threat detection systems’. The Durham group makes products which can identify cancerous tissues, wearable nuclear radiation detector kits, and dirty bombs. Boss Arnab Basu said: ‘We believe technologies that can provide information about emerging threats in near real time will be a critical component of strategies.’ Shares rose 14.2pc, or 1.15p, to 9.25p.
