THE MAN HIMSELF ON HIS 100th CAP...

-

AS A young kid, I wanted to play for Wigan first. A bit more of my childhood was rugby league and the rest of it was rugby union. I’ve always wanted to play at the top level and as soon as I played a bit more rugby union this was always what I wanted to be a part of.

As I got older it was a pretty prestigious thing. Now we’re here, it’s for everyone else to enjoy. I’ve got my tickets done. My mum is not going to watch my dad’s game this weekend, she’s coming to ours. She goes to the biggest game!

The exciting bit is everything that’s in front of us. The exciting thing is where this team is going and wanting to be a part of that. The best stuff is still in front of us and that’s the stuff that excites me now. The best part of the games are how engaging they are, when you’re lost in it. When you’re not thinking. There’s no worry. It feels like everything is slower. It feels like there’s a calmness to it but it’s still aggressive. They are conflicting things to speak about but it kind of happens. It’s timeless. Everything is slow but time goes so quick. I can only imagine it’s because you’re fully immersed in what’s happening. It’s like any big day, say your wedding day or something like that, where it goes so quickly.
