I’m making sacrifices to keep my staff warm

-

A BUSINESS owner has said she won’t replace departing staff, in order to keep her remaining employees warm at work.

Jo Blood, 49, from Brighton, has seen her business’s electric bill quadruple to £400 per month.

The mother of two, who runs office furniture store PosturePeople with husband David, 49, fears heating their 2,500 square foot warehouse in winter will be ‘bleak’. She said: ‘We are based in a warehouse, and it’s been so mild recently that it’s been OK. But our warehouse is right by the beach so once winter really sets in, it’s fairly bleak.’

Mrs Blood added: ‘A member of staff is leaving at Christmas and we’ve decided not to replace her as we’re worried what next year will bring.’
