YORKSHIRE TOUR Susan Calman’s Grand Day Out, 8pm, Ch5

SUSAN goes off the beaten track in this episode of her jolly series, visiting parts of Yorkshire she hasn’t reached before. She stops off at Shibden Hall near Halifax, the home of Anne Lister, whose diaries inspired the TV series Gentlemaneman Jack,Jack before heading to Robin Hood’s Bay, scene of many a smuggler’s haul, and careering into the 1980s with a circuit at a roller rink (pictured with teacher Melissa) to the sounds of Olivia Newton-John’s Xanadu. In between all the excitement, Susan also finds time to sit back, take in the beautiful scenery and enjoy a well-deserved cuppa.
