FEW things are as likely to put a smile on your face and a song in your heart as this long-awaited sequel to the 2007 hit Enchanted (also on Disney+). Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey return as we pick up the story of displaced fairytale heroine Giselle (Adams, pictured) as she continues to adapt to life in the real world. It’s not as easy as she’d like, what with a move out of New York to a rundown house in the suburbs, a very grumpy now-teenage stepdaughter (Gabriella Baldacchino) who’s missing the big city, and local queen bee Malvina (Bridesmaids’ Maya Rudolph) to deal with. So when she receives a visit from the King and Queen of her old homeland of Andalasia (James Marsden and Idina Menzel), bearing a gift of a wishing wand, Giselle wonders if magic can be the answer to her woes. But can a spell fix things? Or is Giselle suddenly going to find herself as the evil stepmother? Sweet, funny and perfectly played by the entire cast, this is a spellbinding sequel to a magical original.
