Out Of The Mouths Of Babes
NELL, my six-year-old granddaughter, loves dressing up as a princess.
When I hosted the first family get-together after lockdown ended, I thought I would make an extra-special effort, having worn casual clothes for the whole time that we couldn’t go out.
I applied make-up for the first time in months, put on a pretty summer dress, which was previously unworn, took extra care with my hair and donned a pair of dangly, sparkly earrings.
When Nell arrived, I commented on how pretty she looked. She said: ‘Thank you, I’ve come as Snow White.’ She looked me up and down and asked: ‘But, Grandma, what have you come as?’
