FEWER DEAD LEAVES AIDS POND LIFE

Water lilies will be turning dormant by now. Many of the leaves will have yellowed and begun to decay. remove as many of those as you can reach, pulling away as much of the long stems, too. With other pondweed, remove some of the greenery but not too much. Decaying leaves in an autumn pond can reduce oxygen levels. that is supplied during daylight by submerged, living greenery. this helps to keep your pond water fresh and healthy. and pondlife removed with vegetation should be returned, to keep the natural balance.
