HENDERSON DEMANDS THE FA SPEED UP RACISM CLAIM CASES

-

JoRDAn HEnDERSon wants the FA to fast-track all misconduct cases involving allegations of racist language after a false complaint from Arsenal defender Gabriel left the Liverpool captain under a cloud for almost three weeks this season.

The pair clashed after Arsenal were given a penalty towards the end of their 3-2 win at the Emirates Stadium in october, an incident which led to Gabriel mistakenly complaining that the Liverpool captain had used a Portuguese racial slur, triggering an investigation.

Henderson was eventually cleared by the FA, who ruled that although the complaint was made in good faith there was no case to answer, as after taking statements from both players and six other eye witnesses, no one else heard the alleged comment.

The process took 17 days, however, leaving Henderson understandably upset at having such a stain lingering over his impeccably regarded character and also concerned about the impact on Gabriel, having seen in the past the damage racial abuse can do to players.

Henderson (above) wants the FA to ensure such cases are dealt with in a matter of days in the future.
