It’s Monday, 1pm, time for the Great British Bunk Off

-

WORLD Cup fever arrived in emphatic fashion yesterday – and with it came the Great British Bunk Off.

Brits took advantage of flexible work-from-home patterns to tune in and watch the football, the first time the sporting tournament has been held in the winter.

According to consultancy Advanced Workplace Associates, only a fifth of employees expected themselves to be in the office, instead choosing to stay at home where they could watch the match.

Gary Lineker recognised the sense of occasion. The presenter introduced coverage of England’s opening match on BBC1 with a cheeky remark: ‘You do know it’s not a Bank Holiday don’t you?’
