Twins born... from embryos frozen in 1992

- CRAIG BROWN IS AWAY

TWINS have been born from embryos frozen more than 30 years ago in what is thought to be a world record.

Lydia and Timothy Ridgeway were born on October 31 from embryos frozen in April 1992 – the year Bill Clinton ran for president and ‘Black Wednesday’ rocked UK markets.

The embryos were frozen for an anonymous married couple who later gave them to the National Embryo Donation Centre in Tennessee.

New parents Rachel, 34, and Philip, 35 – who have four other children – said the twins were ‘in a sense the oldest and smallest’ of their brood.
