Cornwall’s a bewty

-

I HAVE lived in West Cornwall for more than 50 years having first moved down ’ere while in the military. It took quite a while to adapt to the pace of life of the Cornish folk. But having learnt local phrases and getting things done ‘dreckly’, I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. I agree with the outgoing boss of Visit Cornwall, Malcolm Bell’s, comments, including his strong wording that many of the ‘f***ing emmets’ keep hold of most of their money by living in those ‘ bloody caravans’ or use holiday lets owned by up-country people.

Judging by their motoring skills, these tourists must also undertake a different driving test to us, and they can be often rude and abrupt in wanting immediate service.

It is great that Covid is on the wane so those ‘grockles’ can leave us alone and enjoy the beer of Benidorm once again. Another 50 years and I’ll be accepted here!
