JFK killer ‘did it to impress wife’
LEE Harvey Oswald assassinated John F Kennedy to prove to his wife that he wasn’t a ‘loser’, a new book claims. Author Paul Gregory, who knew the couple as a teenager, says Marina Oswald mocked her husband, pictured with her, as ‘sexually inadequate’.
Gregory met them in 1962, the year before Oswald shot JFK. He says that while Oswald earned $35 a week as a welder, he had pretensions of being an intellectual and was desperate to impress his wife with his political writings.
The book also recounts how FBI surveillance of Marina revealed her ‘strong sexual drive’ and that she thought her husband wasn’t a ‘real man’.
‘Lee’s fear was that he would be exposed as a loser,’ Gregory writes in The Oswalds: An Untold Account Of Marina And Lee. ‘He dreamed, I strongly suspected, of becoming a part of history.’
