Zara’s girls having a ball at the races? You bet they are!
WITH the passion of veteran racegoers etched on their faces, the Tindall girls ring in the New Year with some very enthusiastic cheers.
Mia, eight, and Lena, four, looked like they had a wonderful time on a family day out at Cheltenham Racecourse yesterday.
Parents Zara and Mike Tindall sipped bubbly while Mia wildly flapped what appeared to be a betting slip in her hand.
Lena, meanwhile, watched a race with her mouth wide open in excitement.
Wrapped up warmly in an elegant navy coat, Zara, 41, wore a burgundy hat, while Mike, 44, opted for camel chinos and a flat cap.
Zara, a former Olympic horsewoman, appeared to be just as transfixed as her daughters as she gazed at the racing horses with a smile.
New Year’s Day is a time of family fun at Cheltenham Racecourse, with face painting and bouncy castles to keep less enthusiastic children entertained. On the other side of the country, meanwhile, the King and the Queen Consort were also up bright and early.
They greeted well-wishers yesterday as they attended a New Year’s Day service at the Church of St Mary Magdalene on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
‘Flapping a betting slip’
Wearing a long tweed coat, a patterned tie and brown shoes, Charles, 74, was seen beaming at the crowds.
Camilla, 75, wore a dark coat with a brooch for the occasion, along with a feathered hat.
The King and his mother, the late Queen, were both honoured with drone displays at London’s annual New Year’s Eve firework show on the banks of the Thames on Saturday night.
