BRADSHAW DOUBLE HAS LIONS ROARING
TOM BRADSHAW’s double fired Millwall up to fourth in the Championship as they eased past relegationthreatened Rotherham. Just four points separate the Lions from 14th-placed Queens Park Rangers in what is becoming a mad scramble for the play-off spots. Millwall were winless at the Den since October 22 but Bradshaw headed them into a fourth-minute lead from a Callum Styles free-kick. The home side were then frustrated by Rotherham keeper Viktor Johansson, who made a string of saves to deny Styles, George Honeyman, Shaun Hutchinson and Bradshaw. Bradshaw also fired over when teed up by Styles. Rotherham were without six key players through illness and injury but Conor Washington spurned a glorious opportunity to draw them level when he rounded keeper Bartosz Bialkowski and fired over. Millwall made the Millers pay on 66 minutes when Bradshaw’s shot was deflected past Johansson by Cameron Humphreys. And they sealed the points when
Bradshaw fired home on the rebound when Andreas Voglsammer’s shot was parried by Johansson. Millwall are unbeaten in eight matches at home, having drawn their last three before yesterday, but the misery deepens for Rotherham boss Matt Taylor, whose side are winless in 12 league games and only one point above the drop zone. Taylor admitted the transfer window could not have come at a better time for his depleted side. He said: ‘We ended up being toothless — but that’s also because we haven’t got many attacking players on the pitch.
‘We need players who are experienced. We can’t just sign a whole host of players — we have got to make sure they will make us better. ‘It was a poor start to the game and in the position we’re in, we have to give ourselves more of a chance for longer.’
