Now he refuses to say if he’ll be at Coronation

- By Inderdeep Bains Deputy Chief Reporter

HARRY has refused to confirm if he will attend his father’s Coronation, claiming ‘ the ball is in their court’.

He also insisted he would not ‘stay silent’ on his rift with the Royal Family, alleging that was not an option.

the prince raised doubts over whether he will attend the Coronation at Westminster Abbey on May 6 as he promoted his explosive memoir spare.

In a new trailer for an ItV interview with his friend the journalist tom Bradby, Harry was asked about the Coronation. He stressed: ‘there’s a lot that can happen between now and then. But the door is always open. the ball is in their court. there’s a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they’re willing to sit down and talk about it.’

King Charles is known to be deeply hurt by his younger son’s repeated attacks. However, he is keen to keep a line of communication open and is expected to invite Harry and Meghan to the event. In the trailer for Harry: the Interview, which will be shown on ItV1 and ItVX at 9pm on sunday, the prince was challenged about invading the privacy of his family.

He said: ‘I don’t know how staying silent is ever going to make things better.’ Mr Brady said: ‘ some people will say you’ve railed against invasions of your privacy all your life and the accusation will be “Here are you invading the privacy of your nearest and dearest without permission.”’

Harry replied by claiming Buckingham Palace leaked stories against him and Meghan before they stood down as working royals in 2020.

Harry said: ‘that would be the accusation from people that don’t understand or don’t want to believe that my family have been briefing the Press.’

Brady asked: ‘Wouldn’t your brother say to you, “Harry, how could you do this to me after everything? After everything we went through?”’ Harry replied: ‘He would probably say all sorts of different things.’

the minute long clip, filmed in California, ends with Harry saying he still believes in the monarchy but adds that he does not know if he will play a part in its

future. Harry has also been interviewed by American journalist Anderson Cooper for CBs show 60 Minutes which will be broadcast later on sunday night. And he has done a third tV interview, with Good Morning America’s Michael strahan which will be screened on Monday.

In the interview with the former American footballer, Harry is questioned over the rift with Prince William who he described in his book as his ‘ beloved brother and arch-nemesis’.

the prince says: ‘ there has always been this competition between us, weirdly, I think it really plays into, or is played by, the “heir spare”.’

Despite his repeated attacks on his family, Harry believes sharing ‘the truth’ will help him to reconcile with them.

He insists: ‘ ultimately, what this all comes down to is, I don’t think that we can ever have peace with my family unless the truth is out there.’

Harry is also expected to take part in at least one newspaper interview, potentially with the New York times. the interviews are thought to be intended to allow Harry to set the scene ahead of the book’s release on tuesday and explain his intent behind publishing it.
